welcome to the studio

First, let me introduce you to my little studio assistant, Charlie. He likes to hang out (sleep) while I paint, or let anyone mowing their lawn nearby know that he’s a serious (9 pound) threat.

My studio is where most of my soft pastel paintings come to life — it’s full of natural light, dusty color palettes, and more art supplies than I probably need. I’m most inspired when I’m surrounded by peace and quiet, with a cup of coffee or tea nearby and a view out the window (bonus points for a good Texas sky).

I’ve shared a few photos below so you can see where I work, how I organize my soft pastels, and a few little details that make the space my own.

Whether I’m sketching out a new composition, pouring over reference photos or layering color into a pastel sky, this space is where I love to create. Thanks for taking a peek behind the scenes.
